Two Nonprofit Organizations Accredited for TPI’s DIRECTORY
THE PATRIOTS INITIATIVE is pleased to announce that it has recognized zero8hundred and K9s For Warriors to be added to the TPI Directory as two highly exceptional nonprofit organizations that improve the lives and well-being of our nation’s military service members, wounded and fallen warriors, veterans and their families.
K9s For Warriors: K9s For Warriors provides post-9/11 veterans with highly trained service dogs to mitigate symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Military Sexual Trauma that resulted from their service. K9s For Warriors aims to empower our warriors to return to civilian life with dignity and independence. Since its founding in 2011, K9s For Warriors has paired over 300 warrior-canine teams and rescued almost 700 dogs.
zero8hundred: Formed by the Military Transition Support Project (MTSP), a cross-sector collaborative in San Diego, in 2014, zero8hundred represents a fiscally-sponsored program of Mission Edge San Diego. Zero8hundred is a community guidance program implemented in partnership with the U.S. Armed Forces dedicated to proactively link transitioning military families to a broad range of resources and opportunities in the community, helping them successfully transition to civilian life. In the first two years of its existence, zero8hundred was presented to 13,992 transitioning service members and their spouses in 247 on-base courses at 6 regional military bases.
If you are the leader of a nonprofit organization that supports military service members, the wounded, the fallen, veterans or their families and would like The Patriots Initiative to be aware of your program, please contact us. We look forward to learning about your work, and working with you throughout the evaluation process. There is no cost or fee involved.
